Hey everyone! Have you met Emma!? This is Emma, our newest addition to the Red Skye family. She is a puppy, a Shepard mix. She is full of energy and excitement. We hope that one day she will make a great therapy dog, just like Phoebe and Sophie. She is in puppy training classes so she can learn to behave like a good girl. She is still little so she has much life ahead of her! Isn’t she adorable!? I am so excited that she is a part of our family.
Thank you to all!
Howdy there! I wanna thank everyone who came out to our Hug-a-Horse event this weekend! It was so nice to see new friends! Makaday, Brigitta, Lance, and I all enjoyed seeing our friends! We all really really hope that everyone can come to our next event because we like making friends. One thing that was discovered at this week’s Hug-a-Horse is that Lance has baby birds living in his stall! Check out the picture on our Facebook page! Talk to you all soon!
There’s still spots open!
Howdy all! Did you know that Red Skye has a new summer riding program?! It’s for children, ages 6-12, who want to learn how to take care of horses! Kids will learn the colors and breeds of horses, and there will be arts and crafts! I will be there! Children will get to learn how to ride and the parts of my saddle too. It does cost $250 per week, but is offered for most of the summer. Call Niki to save a spot today!
Oh My Gosh! Did you hear the good news?!
I have some very great news this week! Are you ready for this?! Are you sure you’re ready? Okay…here goes. All of the Red Skye horses are officially certified therapy horses with Pet Partners! This means that Makaday, Lance, and even Brigitta are all certified to go places and bring people happiness! We can go to New Haven and see patients at Yale. We can go to any public and community events with Niki and Claire! Oh my gosh this is soooo exciting! We shall have pictures to come!
Meet Charmin

Miss Annie

I had a week off!
It was so nice to have a week off! My friend Brigitta, she’s the only mare in the barn, got to go to a natural horsemanship clinic on Sunday. She did so well that Niki tried the natural horsemanship methods with me. It was difficult at first because I really wasn’t listening. After a couple minutes I got the hang of it! We have been trying to work on all of our manners so we have been working on them at home now. Look at Brigitta and Niki working so well together below!
Smile!
Howdy! Do you know what I love doing? Smiling! Makaday makes me smile. All of my horse friends make me smile. Annie, our barn cat, makes me smile. My riders make me smile. Doing therapy sessions makes me smile. You know what else makes me smile? Our second “Hug-a-Horse” event! Everyone can come meet me and all the other horses at Red Skye! This Saturday, April 26, from 4-6 p.m. you can come see me and all my Red Skye pals. We all hope to see you there! Oh and by the way, check out the pictures of me showing off my pearly whites below! Aren’t I just so cute?!
It’s been so busy!

I am so excited for Friday!
Do you guys know what Friday is? You see, Friday April 4 is “Hug-a-Horse” day! This is a time where you can come meet me and all my equine friends! And you can meet all the staff here at Red Skye who take care of us. If you would like to come meet me, you can “Hug-a-Horse” from 4 until 6 P.M. on Friday.
